Little Darling Pal of Mine: Songs of the Carter Family, is a collection of songs inspired by the Carter Family cannon and reinterpreted in the deep history of traditional folk music. Rich vocal harmonies provide a lush texture over acoustic arrangements of fiddle, guitar, banjo and dobro. Most of the songs on this album can be traced back to old English and Scottish ballads passed on for generations in the Appalachians. The Carter Family were one of the first artists to record many of these songs and their arrangements introduced old-time mountain music to a wider audience. Their sincere, authenticity continues to influence and inspire musicians worldwide.
